Y no solo gracias al efecto Maxima, aunque por supuesto eso ha ayudado enormemente. La Cadema, la revista de tango para B\u00e9lgica y los Pa\u00edses Bajos, ha organizado el concurso Choclo, como un concurso de composici\u00f3n para nueva m\u00fasica de baile de tango. El primer Choclo fue ganado por Margreet Markerink.<br \/>\nUna cita del informe del jurado:<br \/>\n&quot;<em>M\u00fasica agradable y muy bailable con un sonido original. Aunque el tango tradicional nunca est\u00e1 lejos, ofrece su propio sonido, sorprendente y nuevo en cada canci\u00f3n &quot;.<\/em><br \/>\nDurante el descanso de la Noche de la Pasi\u00f3n, hay una oportunidad para una breve entrevista.<\/h5>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo y por qu\u00e9 elegiste el tango?<br \/>\n<em>Esa elecci\u00f3n fue un proceso, no un momento. Comenc\u00e9 clases de piano tanto como ten\u00eda 8 a\u00f1os. Cuando finalmente supe que quer\u00eda continuar con la m\u00fasica, estudi\u00e9 Musicoterapia en Nijmegen. Despu\u00e9s de un per\u00edodo de viajar por India y Nepal, comenc\u00e9 a estudiar en el Conservatorio Hilversums, piano cl\u00e1sico. Toqu\u00e9 mucha m\u00fasica espa\u00f1ola y m\u00fasica h\u00fangara, pens\u00e9 que era maravilloso. Luego, por invitaci\u00f3n de Carel Kraayenhof, comenc\u00e9 a estudiar tango argentino en el Conservatorio de Rotterdam. Carel dijo &quot;eso es algo para ti&quot;. Y eso es verdad. Para m\u00ed, todos los aspectos musicales se unen tan bien en el tango, los ritmos y los tiempos, me enamor\u00e9. Tal vez estaba en m\u00ed mucho antes. Cuando escuch\u00e9 por primera vez el tango nuevo de Astor Piazzolla, qued\u00e9 profundamente impresionado. Solo m\u00e1s tarde entr\u00e9 en contacto con la m\u00fasica del sal\u00f3n de baile. Me llev\u00f3 un tiempo apreciarlo. Piazolla fue el primero en introducir el tango a las influencias del jazz en la d\u00e9cada de 1950, y trajo una guitarra de jazz a sus composiciones y arreglos. Esto despert\u00f3 una enorme cantidad de oposici\u00f3n por parte de los argentinos, quienes sintieron su herencia nacional deshonrada. Piazolla estaba tan molesto o deprimido por esto que \u00e9l mismo quem\u00f3 sus puntajes. Hace unos a\u00f1os, Christiaan van Hemert se comprometi\u00f3 a restaurar la m\u00fasica original de Piazzolla al volver a escribir la m\u00fasica en base a los registros antiguos. Con nuestra orquesta Tango Dorado ahora tocamos eso nuevamente, con un guitarrista de jazz en nuestro conjunto. Adem\u00e1s de Tango Dorado, me divierto mucho con nuestro Trio Tangata con Jaqueline Edeling y Maaike Wierda. De hecho, con esto retom\u00e9 el hilo de la \u00e9poca en el Conservatorio de Rotterdam, cuando tambi\u00e9n tuvimos un tr\u00edo en esta formaci\u00f3n con bandon\u00e9on, contrabajo y piano. En ese momento tocamos principalmente m\u00fasica m\u00eda, eso no era m\u00fasica de baile. Estoy muy contento de que el jurado de la competencia Choclo tambi\u00e9n describa mi enfoque actual de tango-nuevo como &#39;muy bailable&#39;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 har\u00e1 este premio por tu vida?<em><br \/>\nEn primer lugar, es maravilloso si notas que la m\u00fasica que escribes t\u00fa mismo es apreciada en el mundo del tango. Habr\u00e1 una aceleraci\u00f3n. Christiaan van Hemert organizar\u00e1 mis composiciones ganadoras para la presentaci\u00f3n de Tango Dorado. Parte del premio es que podemos poner estas composiciones en CD en un estudio profesional.
