Margreet Markerink about her first solo CD:
My new CD & #8220; Moving Friends & #8220; was released on March 1, 2017.
The CD contains compositions in which you can hear the influence of Argentine tango music but also crossovers with classical music / jazz and modern music.
On this CD there are 12 own compositions .. in addition by Bach, Piazzola, Gardel, Troilo and Cobian.
In 2008 I received the composition prize for new Argentine tango music. That paved the way for performances at home and abroad. Often with Tangata ensemble & Jeannine Geerts, but also solo.
We played in Lisbon, Finland, Granada, Istanbul, France, Germany and Tuscany. A few years ago I toured and played in Minnesota (solo and with the musicians from Minneapolis) and Jacqueline Edeling and I traveled to Buenos Aires and also performed there. In addition to the 6 solo piano pieces, the CD also contains compositions with my wonderful colleague musicians:
Emmy Storms (violin), Andrea Bentivoglio (violin), Harriet Overbeek (cello), Boris Franz (double bass), Jacqueline Edeling (English concertina) and Kees Scholten (vocals.)& #8220; Moving Friends & #8221; has become my first own production and also my most personal CD.
I dedicate the CD to my dear friends and family, who have been able to walk so many paths in life with me.
