From a wealth of Argentinian music, under the inspiring leadership of conductor Maud Meilof, heNK will be singing a passionate repertoire of both classical music and age-old folk songs this year.
A rich program: from the romantic-nationalistic songs of Carlos Guastavino to the modernist Alberto Ginastera and from the very last poem by the poet and intellectual Alfonsina Storni to a song in Queshua for the brutally murdered Inca leader Atahualpa. Composers such as Grau, Cobian, Araneda, Ramirez & #8230; .. the New Choir sings music from original inhabitants of Argentina and later immigrants. Folk, zamba and tango rhythms are discussed, whether or not mixed with Indian and Creole.

heNK is accompanied by Trio Tangata: Jacqueline Edeling (bandonéon), Margreet Markerink (piano) and Boris Franz (double bass).

After the concert there is, as usual, a cozy drink or after-dinner.
